Unscrupulous dealer aided and abetted by PSE

Just saw this come up on eBay. I don't know what's going on at PSE but whoever certified this 187 did an incredibly poor job. Notice the eBay listing doesn't even show an image of the cert (go figure...) It's interesting that the ten cent large bank notes seem to have a huge number of instances of removed cancels compared to any other US stamps. When the perfs are that clean of paper fibers, and the stamp looks super clean like that, the odds are almost 100% that it has been regummed, and it also may have been reperfed on the bottom side (as relates to the image. (In my opinion, but it is well known that a large percentage of stamps offered as MNH from the 18th and early 19th centuries have been regummed.)

Because “WYSIWYG” is, evidently, the only description a “reputable” dealer needs to use.

Mark, this isn't a PSE issue. They have given their opinion, and the seller is, instead of showing the cert, showing the tracking of the barcode of the stamp, which contains the SUBMITTERS information on what they believe it is. The CERT is what PSE has issued, and the seller is not posting that. He's an idiot for thinking you can't look the cert up online. It's probably why the stamp is still listed and not sold.
This is also why eBay continues to spiral in reputation. You could report this until you're blue in the face, and they wouldn't take any action on it.

Well, the way he is omitting the PSE cert is rather covert fraud. But fraud is fraud. eBay does nothing about this. One of the 2 critical reasons we are glad to be done with them.

I don't know about PSE, but in the coin world, PCGS and NCG make some questionable grading decisions.
I have a Silver Eagle graded as a 70 that has a pretty sizable ding on it.
