I reported the seller to eBay but am not holding my breath on this one. Any sale is a good sale to them...

Here's another one from the same dealer. He's listing the stamp as "NH" but the PSE cert states it's regummed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/165979483433?hash=item26a525ed29:g:4ToAAOSwRehkDkFD&amdata=enc:AQAHAAAAsC/k+q78oCS69GEeBY45OD90XMOUYXkk…

Phil, I noticed your comment about high grade Canadian stamps. I've been considering getting a few of my nicer Canadian stamps certified by PSE. Christopher Rupp told me that Canadian collectors largely prefer VGG certs while US collectors prefer…

Greg, the album is sparsely populated with a few hundred of the most common stamps, so not a whole lot of "metal" present.
-
Thanks Greg!
-
Not sure why I can't get the images to upload...will keep trying.
-
Thanks Scott - that's very interesting.

Perhaps some of the bidders feel they might be getting a bargain on a "fault free" used stamp, but in my book the removal of the cancel constitutes a major fault rendering this stamp a space-filler.
-
Hi Scott. Interestingly enough, the stamp I highlighted above is being sold by HipStamp website owner. FWIW at least it's listed as being in used condition. I agree that no certification service is infallible. Here's a link to a stamp I recently …

The website is still screwed up, at least when using a Firefox browser. Is you can see from the screenshot below, the search window is greyed out and searching for specific items is impossible.
-
Thanks Ted it is showing the filters now. I have no idea why they weren't showing up earlier.
-
The search function is more much convoluted now. The one advantage HipStamp had over eBay was the easy searchability of certified stamps by grade. That feature has now disappeared into thin air.
-
Here's an obvious blunder from PSAG. Whoever was certifying this stamp must have been on drugs that day...
-
It doesn't appear to be a #7 (type II), as the side ornaments are incomplete. The image below is of a PSE certified #7. Compare the scroll work on the upper right quarter of the two stamps.

As an occasional buyer of high end stamps, given the choice of purchasing a selected stamp through eBay or HipStamp, I'll choose going through HipStamp every time. The state tax California gets on eBay sales makes a big difference to me.

Lee I clicked on the link you provided regarding The Us #234. Four bids at 16 cents! Should be some furious bidding during the last couple of seconds! https://www.hipstamp.com/listing/us-234-mint-with-pse-graded-cert-vf-80-og/29480909

Hi Les yes I saw that too. I complained to Mark a while back when they were listing stamps as "certified" but there was no image of the cert included, no cert number, and no description of what was on the cert. It's my opinion that whoever he has l…

It's worthwhile to keep in mind that Scott lists prices for those stamps in VF condition (SMQ-80). The issues is that if a stamp is not certified, you're taking a chance on it having faults. Potential buyers that have no way to validate the condit…

Here's another item where the PF cert makes no sense. It says "unused og" for a stamp that's NGAI. They must have certified it right before happy hour https://www.hipstamp.com/listing/us-3-mint-with-pf-cert-no-gum-nh/27854580
-
It will be interesting to see how much this stamp brings. Regarding the current plethora of 51 bids, some bidders may now come to realize that they are not bidding on an unused stamp.
-
George it appears someone was paying attention to my rant and just posted images of the cert for this stamp and a few others on their listing. Ron I noticed that too regarding that stamp. Should it be listed as unused?

Feedback ratings are basically worthless unless there's proportionally quite a few negative ratings. Take a look at nystamps' ratings over on eBay. Probably sold over a million stamps with 99.9% positive feedback, which is amazing considering they…

Have you read through this thread?

I see that seller "Abigailstamps" is still active on this site. It's unfortunate that HipStamp continues to allow sellers to rip off customers. Apparently sellers can do no wrong here.
-
Thank you Christopher!

Unfortunately I haven't heard anything back from Abigailstamps stamps "what a shock!". I filed a complaint with eBay but so far haven't heard anything back and she remains a seller there despite eBay's representative telling me there have been some…

I agree with Michael Generali's opinion that this is fraudulent activity by the seller rather than just "an oversight". I have a complaint in with eBay but am not hopeful of a successful resolution given the lack of timeliness on my part. The next…

I was able to find that seller's eBay listings here: https://www.ebay.com/usr/abigaisteel3?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 It appears the seller changed her name to Abigailstamps on HipStamp. My apologies.
