A refreshing story with a positive twist. A very nice palate cleanser after other reading I had just done here - thanks!

I second that! Great rendition of it - just amazing talent MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL - I hope you get all the stamps you asked Santa for

Hi Mark, Welcome - and great question, too. If anyone hears of a sniping service make sure to pass the word. I'd like to be in the know as well. Simply amazing that someone would greet you that way. Well, let it pass and enjoy the site and the comp…

Looks great!! Well done, Bob. Sharp!

Well that's too bad to hear but certainly wishing you a solid recovery. Might I suggest an occasional stiff shot of Jack or whatever your fancy is to aid in recovery. Hey, it worked most of the time in the 1800s, might as well give it a shot now.

Thanks! Although I didn't realize it when I ordered this catalog originally, this is going to turn into my retirement catalog so to speak. The original plan for retirement was four years out but after crunching numbers and consulting the crystal bal…

Good to hear. I knew you were somewhere in the region but had no idea the region was that large! Good news. I'm familiar with the sunrise and sunset effect because this summer when Canada was burning to the ground we had the same thing (along with…

Oh, I just randomly picked some tidbit out of your comment just to sound like a nitpicking nitwit. I have nothing against your repeating periods in the slightest! I'm just amazed whether it's this site or the world in general how many people just l…

Very cool, uh I mean Hip. Thanks for sharing (but next time we expect there to be a big ol' contest where the grand prize winner actually gets to attend!!)
-
Carol, I think your use of too many repeating periods....... is over the top and further, I think Ok, nothing but sarcasm here. Purely joking. Just wanted to add a little humor here. I completely agree with everything you said.

Dave, just last weekend I picked up a new catalogue of Telegraph Stamps & Telephone Stamps and met the author in person (who lives more or less in my neck of the woods). He's eventually working on putting together a catalogue for Savings Stamps,…

I've also seen that trend in some WWII stamps brought back home by GIs in their baggage or ammo cans or whatever form of protection - It seemed to me that they were also powdered for humidity and storage reasons for the long journey home during that…

Far out groovy trip down memory lane dudes (and dudettes).
-
Ok, will somebody please cut the mic feed already
-
Not an expert by any means, but I'm going with proof Scott 41P3 (the 1875 reprint issues)

Any gum or remnants showing gumming on the back?

"She's gone - She's gone - HALLELUJAH - HALLELUJAH!!!!!!" Classy John. Real classy. Are you 12 years old or is this the first time you've ever used the Internet in your life? Because you're coming across as a complete dick, just so ya know. (This …

Like, what are we like talking about here people? Are we like liking the likes or not liking the likes, like you know? Like, I'm getting really confused like my 19 y.o. daughter and her friends who like say the word like like every other word lately…

Thanks for the update Luree. Truly a crazy, harrowing ordeal but you have all the rest of us here breathing a sigh of relief to hear back from you. Stuff can be fixed - stamps can be replaced - people are a whole lot harder to repair.
-
The brunt of it went though her area yesterday. Very, very likely she is without power.
-
Thinking of you Luree before you even mentioned it here. Thoughts and Prayers are with you - Please check in when you can so your philatelic family knows you're OK when it's all done. If it was possible, I'd mail you my generator here, some water, …

Not good. Not good at all. Let's hold out a little hope that there still just some sort of an excusable delay. Though to be honest it doesn't look good so far. Good luck.

It always pays to take a couple seconds to prufread prooofred prouffread proofread what you type.

Ok, earlier copy/pasted and then posted in a rush. This is what I meant to put down. Should make a little more sense this time, duh... - - - Phil said (Although I'm pretty sure I've seen Stuart Walrus at some of the local stamp shows!) That's EX…

Boy that USPS is on a roll. Got mine too today. Looks even better in person, Dave. Thanks!

Phil said (I think I'm a fan of Scotty Wombat.) That's EXACTLY the same thought I had!!!! :-)

You could also limit your opinions on Lincoln and Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis. Good God, it's the 21st century. Why don't you join it? This is not the 1800's. Long before you even posted here and took a poke at one of our favorite longtime memb…

If you don't like them, keep your opinion to yourself. These are hand drawn by Dave Bennett a renowned cachet maker and long time member here. In other words, it's probably about time you left the building.

Thanks for the challenge, Dave! What a great walk down memory lane (or blind stumble for some like myself).
