"Open A Store" button

I was just wondering why when I'm on the forum the button at the bottom on the screen says "Open A Store" and not "View My Store".

Sometimes I like to stop researching or working and go to the forum and chat, but want to return to my store without several clicks.

Thanks,
Luree

  • Hi Luree,

    Great question!

I wish there were an easy fix for this, but the main area of HipStamp, and the forum section, are built on two different platforms and it's not 'that' easy to fully integrate all areas between the two.

That being said 1) I was wondering who would notice that! and 2) I do want to integrate the name of each person with their store within the forum area (similar to what I did on bidStart). Once that's complete - it should be easier to update the button. In the mean time the quickest way to get back to your store would be to click on the "HipStamp" logo in the forums, which will take you back to the main area, ant then the "Members Area" or "View My Store" button from there.
  • Thanks Mark, you know me, I'll notice so I fit in with your #1! lol...and yes, I do exactly what you had mapped out.

I'll be snooping around the search area and see how much trouble I can get into.
  • I noticed it, too, but saw Luree's post (HI LUREE!)
  • Hi Doug,
Glad to see you here. We will soon have the old gang back. Can't wait to start playing!
  • Luree....I couldn't agree with U more :) ........ & Mark?.......I believe this will take off faster & build momentum quicker than the original Stampwants......I used to match the number of listings for different areas, ebay against Bidstart....Around the time of the sale to SG?....Bidstart had more listings for Germany & area than ebay......Add to that no Cuba on ebay..........Mark.....U've made this old dudes spring / summer...I want to thank you.......And as Luree said..."The Old Gang" will give you full support :)
  • I closed the store on the other site a few months ago, so I have to guess there would be no "residual" data to export to here? I downloaded all the listings into an .xlsx spreadsheet (but not .csv).....is that of any use or do I need to start from scratch again?

    By the way....Hi Kids!!

Hi John! I'm sure you could make a copy, move fields around, save as CSV and do the bulk uploader thing...
  • Thanks, Doug. You're probably right.

I started looking at what was left in the old store and perhaps I should just change direction a bit. Bulky items are a killer with our postal system, so maybe just stamps for now without the old supps, catalogues and collections.
  • Hi John,

Even if you've closed your store on bidStart, you should be able to export your items. Sign in, and go to the My bidStart > Unsold Items section. From there, select a time range, say the day you closed your store (so you don't have items you purposely closed previous to that). Then, at the bottom of the page, on the bottom right change where it says "Selected Items" to "All Items in Search / Filter". Then click the "Export" button to the left of that.

Then, from within HipStamp, go the the Members Area > Selling > Seller Tools > Bulk Lister page and upload that file, selecting the "bidStart Template" on our Bulk Lister page. It should accept the file as is and create new listing for you!

One quick note, you would want to ensure you have your default shipping rates in the Members Area > Selling > Seller Tools > Prefilled Fields page setup first (note to myself, we need to change the name of that page!)
  • Thanks, Mark. One other question about the prefilled fields......is HTML allowed in there? Will it be filtered out if not allowed or will it show up as HTML (with all the symbols and brackets)? I put my old shipping terms in the field, as HTML from an old listing, but don't want to mess up the field.

  • Morning Mark & Crew.... :)

I checked my S&H terms......On Bidstart I had it with +5 cents per additional item......I don't see it here on Hipstamp.....

    Input please?

    Thanks :)
