Canada Scott 158 (Bluenose) pricing....I don't get it

One of my favorite stamps is the Bluenose. One reason for this (besides it being a rather handsome stamp) relates to one of my hobbies of building old sailing ships out of wood..usually from kits. One that I have built is the Bluenose...I'm looking at it as I write. In any case, I digress....

I have an unused Bluenose listed in my store. Just for the heck of it, I looked at all Bluenose offerings on this site. The pricing makes no sense. I see some very nice looking unused offering less than $100, and yet many are in the mid hundreds. Some even have certificates. Not sure what the point of a certificate is, unless you have a variant of some kind.

Tough business to try figuring out.

  • You can find a nice MNH example for around $250.00. But better centering will come with a price. And unused have been hinged. Then there are some really pretty used ones. Something for everyone.
