Today, I listed a dozen new items. What a waste of time. And to top it all, after double checking my new items, I had to revise several, because of the amount of "manual " input we have to do and because even its one page the info we have to fill in is all over the place! and barely visible. Ex. Just the quantity box is microscopic and almost all the way down the page. The "improved" way will just create more listing mistakes. What I find strange for a "improved" site, is that the important info that normally has to be changed or at least checked is spread all over the place instead of being grouped together.
Mark has to realize that we sellers are the customers and to through this fiasco in our face is a slap in the face of we sellers. I have not listed anything since this started and I used to run auctions every day and was going to increase the amount of only 13 to 25 put that is now on hold until this gets fixed and if it is not soon I will be moving my store to another site.
I'm slowly getting a handle on this new system (and still prefer its predecessor). One glitch I still notice is that 'year of issue' dates are not getting filled in automatically, so I always have to go back and click 'edit' to add that to the field. This has happened in my last 20 or so listings straight through without a mere single one getting autolisted, even when I add the year of issue in the Title bar.
Many times it’s because I’m having no luck finding it in Scott, maybe because the stamp I have differs greatly from the stamp Scott used to represent the set, or the stamp I have is listed under a heading like “Castles type of 1972” with no stamp illustration at all. Anyway, you wouldn’t lose any of my potential business for not including the year, because some dealer is bound to include it, and when I find my stamp and the Scott number in a listing, I’ll do another search by catalog number. I’ll never forsake you, Ron.
And for such reassurance Ted, I can justify scaling back my meds tonight, though that sometimes has the side effect of producing delusions of adequacy.
I feel compelled to add my voice on the side of why fix what is not broken. Things are definitely NOT faster for sellers. For example, it now takes me 2 times longer to change the "quantity" in my current listings. I'll continue to use the classic Listing experience... I sincerely hope that the new format is discontinued.
1: the edit form was a simple 1 page listing tool that can be easily used to replace the multiple page form by just changing the tab at the bottom of the page so it becomes a 2 page form.
and/or
2: Make it so it is an selection option of which type of form you want to use and put the option in the default listing settings.
That is the only way to do it and it is a very simple coding excersize and would make everyone happy.
I have been listing the past few days. I believe at best, for me, this change will not affect my listing speed. If anything it may be slightly slower. Things that I feel need improvement that may speed up the process for me.
1) Leave all sections open. It is a bit disconcerting having to click on a section and have it pop open for editing. If all fields are open like they were on the old form it would make it easier.
2) Modifying the Topic has definitely slowed me down. On the old form it was a drop down. You click on the dropdown and if you start typing a word, such as Politician, once you type the 1st 3 letters "POL" the word is is filled in. If there is more than one choice they are in the list and you can choose. The new form uses radio buttons. When you click on Topic you then have to click in the Search box and then the list comes up.
3) I can't seem to figure out the purpose of the List Your Item button (Besides listing an item). If I modify a previous listing (which is what I do all the time) and click the List Your Item button, the Title goes back to the previous item that I modified. I guess because that button is highlighted Blue, I keep pressing it when I want to press the List & Create a Similar Item.
These are some of the issues I am having. None of them are causing huge difficulties and the more I use the new form, the faster I am getting at it. But like I said, I don't believe the new form will increase my listing speed significantly even when I am totally comfortable using it.
You can put me in the minority, after about 15 min I got the hang of it. I agree with O'Malley about using the edit form, that would be great. My only suggestion would be to put a preview tab at the bottom, so one can check before listing.
My 5c on this matter. The new user interface sucks. I do not know how the UX was determined prior to landing that page. the photos are displayed in a very bad way. I can go on for long here.
An informal survey indicated sentiment was overwhelmingly in favor of a return to the old system. Yet in the middle of night, those results strangely took an unexpected turn to now supporting the change. When I challenged the outcome, I was assured it accurately reflected the Dominion machine tallying.

I just now checked out the sell similar and clicked back to the "classic" version and it looks like everything was there.
Now all that needs to be done is to have a way to set a preference where you can either have the "classic" or NEW version as your regular view.
Now if they could just set up the "classic" version to a one page lister just like the page you get when you edit a listing as I suggested before.

Are the store descriptions missing?
