That looks like Sean Connery's apartment building in "The Untouchables"....with a giant cat peering out of the garden area. He has that "litter box" look on his face.
Scott, I just recieved some stamps from you. Everything looked great. As for the thread, thanks to Scott I am back in Album 1. Years 1847-1936. Last gap on this page is the 342 which I am hoping to find soon.
New stuff just in. Wallis & Futuna C21 the warf at Mata Utu, 1968. Imperf, mnh.
FSAT C28, MS Gallieni, mnh, 1973. When you're stuck for a season on Kuerguelon Island, your heroes are the supply and research ships. FSAT has ships on a lot of its stamps.
And something I never expected to see, although I have my doubts. Greece C4 used, the high value from that art deco set I like so much.
There is no gum on the back, but the cancel seems questionable. So I have my doubts.
Morning, all. Here's a couple of souvenir sheets from our dear departed friend, East Germany.
This is curious, and don't ya just love finding notes in Scott? Here is the souvenir sheet formally known as 646, or as my dealer described it, "646x." This was issued to publicize "Chemistry for Peace and Socialism" in March 1963. It is printed on ungummed synthetic tissue and it has just a modest value of $4.50. What is curious is that the note in Scott describing the sheet is between numbers 645 and 647, there is no 646. I can guess that Scott gave the sheet a number when it was announced, then withdrew it for some reason, typically limited availability. Let us know if you know more.
A neat little semi-postal, B21a from July 1950. Issued for the DEBRIA exhibition held in Leipzig.
