Ok, we gotta week until New Year's, let's look at some stamps. French Polynesia C68 from 1965, FDC. I just found this in a stockbook, hadn't thought of it for years. This was going to be the starting point of a Fr. Polynesia collection that never got started. It is in good company now.
This is C43 from 1966, and Pape'ete has grown consideriderably since. The artificial quay in the center is Motu Uta. These days it is covered with shipping containers and maritime buildings. Pape'ete proper is off to the left. The green area in the center background is now built up with the neighborhoods of Tipaeru'i and Pamata'i. The airport runway is on reclaimed land just to the right.
On Christmas Day we grilled steaks on the patio. We celebrated New Year's Eve on the porch with candles and cheeses. And now this, and this is our second snow in a week.
Phil, might I suggest moving to you know, Australia? They have Platypus which is the Aussie version of the Beaver, so you'll feel right at home, but without all that freezing stuff.
Phil has all that shedded cat fuzz to keep him warm. And probably a few legit beavers "down by the crik" to cuddle up to if the cats can't keep up. And South Australia can get cold too in our summer. Brrrr Ya Blokes!
When I was young I wanted to live in Oz. But now I know that Downunder my hair would never stay in place and small change would keep falling out of my pockets....
