WAR TAX on POSTAL CARDS: Four items; all 1c cards with added postage, (Scott #UX24, UX27, UY7), two single cards, best is UX24 as these are not often seen with war tax, 1c Wash-Frank with SE tied by Cattaraugus NY Aug 8 1918, addr Conewango NY, has some staining and a bit shop-worn but has a fascinating reverse, mostly personal but includes I am trying to be Patriotic by saving my money for war stamps, other cards include clean UX27 (early stock) Bay City Mich Jun 11 1918 cnl, addr Highland Park KY, also a great UY7 (intact) with a COIL (probably #490), Jan 1918 usage to a doctor, someone in his office was cheap enough to steal the stamp off the reply card (see the second scan), very nice NYC use, finally a UY7m with unused WF, never sent, good group, Fine-VF+

These used to be more common, but they are a lot scarcer today . . .
