Vintage Switzerland Poster Stamp Rhine Falls Near Schaffhausen, In The Canton Of The Same Name. In The Center Of The City The Old Castle Fortress Unused Paper Hinge Remnant 60% Original Gum. The Rhine Falls formerly also called the Grosser Laufen (in contrast to the former Kleiner Laufen and the still existing Mittlerer Lauffen ), is one of the three largest waterfalls in Europe , along with the equally high Sarpsfossen in Norway and the twice as high Dettifoss in Iceland . The Sarpsfossen has an average flow of 577 m³/s, while the Dettifoss carries only about half as much water. The Rhine Falls are located in Switzerland in the municipalities of Neuhausen am Rheinfall in the canton of Schaffhausen (right bank) and Laufen-Uhwiesen in the canton of Zurich (left bank), about four kilometers southwest below the city of Schaffhausen .
