VENEZUELA 1902 Revolution Provisional - Ciudad Bolivar - VALE 50 CS /10c red RRRVery RARE provisional for Ciudad Bolivar , violet (faded) handstamped "VALE 50 CS" on 10c red .In 1902, under General Cipriano Castro, the Venezuelan government came under international pressure because it was unable to repay its debts due to a failed economic policy. Part of the military under General Matos took advantage of the situation and started a revolution in July. The revolutionaries quickly brought the eastern Venezuelan under control, especially the state of Guiana with its capital Ciudad Bolivar was the center of the uprising. As the new governor of Guyanas, Motas used his colleague General Ramon Farreras, who began the reorganization of the administration and postal services in the fall of 1902. On October 12, 1902, he published a decree that reopened the postal service. For sale at the main post office, some 5 Centimos brands captured at the conquest of the city of San Felix at the end of August received violet hand stamp imprints VALE Cs ... or VALE Bs .... The value levels were 25, 50 and 75 cts, as well as 1, 2, 3 and 5 Bolivares. Overprinted were applied initially to the captured 5 cts with the image of Simon Bolivar of 1899 and later used to the 10c and some fiscal stamps .
