Item Description
I apologize to all philatelists out there. My dad is 85 years young and I am trying to help him "downsize" some of his stuff. Stamps appear to be "some of his stuff". What I know about stamps would probably fit on the stamp itself, but I am trying to look things up as I go. Please, if you see something incorrect regarding my listing, let me know so that I can learn (and also correct the listing).Feel free to make an offer on anything you see listed. Thanks for looking.

This is a batch of 14, one cent, red, McKinley US Postal Cards. 13 are cancelled (mostly flags), 1 is uncancelled. Please see individual descriptions below. You can buy one card or all 14, but you can e-mail me and specify which cards you want. The numbers also correspond to the photographs. Each set of photos shows a close-up of the stamp, the cancellation, the stamp/cancellation and postmark, the entire front of the card and then the back of the card.
1. addressee-Mr. Robert Stein. Stamp is in very good condition. There is a tear in the paper just below the stamp, but it does not reach into the stamp. Cancellation is 6 straight lines. Postmark to the left of the lines is Fredonia, NY, Dec 23, 1911. A second, round postmark below the stamp is Washington, DC, Dec 28, 19..(cut off the edge of the card). Topic on back is subscription renewal for Fonetic Association, through Columbia University.
2. addressee is Mr. Walter Marlow. Stamp is a nice, deep carmine color and is in very good condition. Cancellation is a wavy flag, "Station F". The postmark is Washingtonm DC, Sep 28,, 1912. The card has about a 1/4" tear, right side and crinkles at the lower right. Also, worn edges. Topic is coal quote.
3. addressee is W.H. Marlow. Stamp is in very good condition, again, a nice deep carmine color. Card shows slight wear. Cancellation is a wavy flag, "Station B". Postmark is Washington, DC, Aug 14, 1912. Topic is a coal quote.
4. addressee is W. H. Marlow, Esq. Stamp is in very good condition, nice deep carmine. Card has some pinholes, upper left corner (staples?). The cancellation is a wavy flag, "Station F". Postmark is Washington, DC, Sep 16, 1912. Topic is coal quote.
5. addressee is W.L. Gross. The stamp is slightly faded. The card has a discoloration line down the right edge, which extends onto the very right edge of the stamp (light discoloration?). The edges of the card are worn. The cancellation is 7 wavy lines with the #2 at the left end of line 4 and a "D" in line 7. The postmark is Washington, DC, Oct 24, 1912. Topic is a Havenner Baking Company receipt (pre-printed).
6. addressee is Mr. W.L. Gross. This stamp is slightly faded but it is uncancelled. Unfortunately, a line (light discoloration?) extends onto the right edge of the card, about 3/4" and covers about 1/4 of the stamp on the right side. The cancellation is actually upside down, at the bottom, left of the card. It is 7 wavy lines with the #1 at the left end of line 4 and a "C" between lines 6 &7. The postmark is Frederick, MD, Sep 30, 1912. Topic is a pre-printed receipt from D.C. Winebrener & Sons
7. addressee is Wm. L. Gross. This stamp is in pretty bad condition due to the discoloration of the card itself, the wear marks and dirt on the card. The cancellation is 7 wavy lines with a #4 at the left end of line 4 and a "C" between lines 6 &7. The postmark is Baltimore, MD, Oct 19, 1912. The topic is a pre-printed receipt from JNO. Schoenewolf & Co.
8. addressee is Mr. W.L. Gross. The entire card has a horizontal fold that extends through the bottom half of the stamp. The cancellation is a wavy flag. The postmark is Martinsburg, W.VA., Oct 28, 1912. Topic is a pre-printed "calling card" from Phillips Brothers & Co, Wholesale Dry Goods.
9. addressee is Wm. L. Gross. Stamp is in good condition, a little faded. The cancellation is a wavy flag with a #1 in the middle of line . The postmark is Alexandria, VA, Oct 5, 1912.Topic is a bill from N. Lindsey & Co.
10. addressee is Miss Rose Elliott. The stamp is a beautiful, dark carmine color and in very good condition. The cancellation is a wavy flag, "Kingsessing Station". The postmark is Philadelphia, PA, Apr 4, 1913. The card does have a vertical fold down the middle, but it doesn't affect the stamp. Topic is a personal note.
11. addressee is Mr. W.H. Marlow. Stamp has tiny spots at the face area (cancellation smudges?), otherwise it is a nice carmine color and in very good condition. The cancellation is a wavy flag, "Terminal Station". One postmark is Washington, DC, Apr 10,1914. A second mark shows Brooklyn, NY, Apr 11, 1914. There is also an eliptical, thick lined mark, with a #10 in the center, over the DC postmark. There is an obvious area of light discoloration on the card and the stamp is in this discolored area. Topic is coal pricing.
12. addressee is P.F. Hannan (?). Stamp is in very nice codnition. The cancellation is 7 wavy lines with a small, blackened square in line 6. The postmark is Washington, DC, May 5, 1914. The very right edge of the card is light discolored, but this does not affect the stamp. Topic is a construction estimate request.
13. addressee is Mr. P.F. Hannan (again, ?). Stamp is in good condition, a little faded. Cancellation is 7 wavy lines with the left end of the 7th line shorter than the others. Postmark is Washington, DC, Feb 19, 1914. Topic is turning off the water at the address (same one as #12 estimate).
14. addressee is Mr. Geo. M. Osborne. Stamp is in good condition but slightly faded. Cancellation is a wavy flag. Postmark is Tulsa, OKLA, Mar 30, 1915. Topic is a request for review of a legal matter.
