Item Description
I apologize to all philatelists out there. My dad is 85 years young and I am trying to help him "downsize" some of his stuff. Stamps appear to be "some of his stuff". What I know about stamps would probably fit on the stamp itself, but I am trying to look things up as I go. Please, if you see something incorrect regarding my listing, let me know so that I can learn (and also correct the listing).Feel free to make an offer on anything you see listed. Thanks for looking.

This is a batch of 8, 1902 issue US Postal cards featuring a black, McKinley, one cent stamp on the right and the USA Eagle emblem on the left. All cards are used and cancelled. You can buy one or more. Just e-mail me which specific card you would like to purchase. The numbers below correspond to the order of the photos. There will be about 6 photos per card (full front, close-up of stamp, eagle, cancellation, postmark and back side of card). Each card measures 5-1/2" x 3-1/4".
1. addressee is Jenks (and a company and city. Amazing that mail would find its way to the addressee like that!). Stamp is in good condition although the card, itself, is very dirty and smudged. The edges of the card are also worn. The cancellation is a wavy flag "Station B". The postmark is Washington, DC, Oct 27, 1902. There is a second cancellation upside down on the bottom of the card that is 7 straight lines with "STA G" in line 4 and a small "c" between lines 6 & 7. This postmark is also Washington, DC, Oct 28, 1902. Back of card topic is about undelivered materials. There are dark stains on the back side of the card
2. addressee is Mr. W.S. Jenks. Stamp is in good condition although the card is age discolored and has worn edges. The age discoloration does extend over the stamp. There is a double cancellation over the stamp, One is 7 straight lines with "STA G" in line 4 and an "R" in line 7. the other is 7 wavy lines with a "2" at the left side of line 4 and a small "c" between lines 6 & 7. The postmarks are both Washington, DC, Mar 25, 190(3?). Topic is a receipt for purchases from Ramsey & Effinger, Wooden and Willow Ware.
3. addressee is Simon S. Adams, Esq. Stamp is in good condition. The card is worn and has bend edges. There is about a 1/2" tear at the top, left of the card. Cancellation is again, double. One is a wavy flag "Station B" with a postmark from Washington, DC, Dec 11, 1904. The other cancellation is 7 wavy lines (line 7 is almost completely missing) with a #1 at the left edge of line 4. Postmark is also Washington, DC, Dec 11, 1904. There is an additional stamp under the eagle image, round, Wash., DC, Rec'd Sta H, Dec 12, 1904. topic is a personal note.
4. addressee is Prof. Geddes. Stamp and card are both in very good condition. Cancellation covers top half of stamp and is 7 straight lines with a #1 at the left, between lines 3 & 4. The postmark is in a rectangular space, Ithaca, NY, May 27, '05. The topic is regarding an article review.
5. addressee is Mr. W. L. Gross. Stamp is in good condition. The card has a horizontal crease at the center, but this does not affect the stamp. There is also a slight tear at the upper, right corner. Again this doesn't affect the stamp. The cancellation is 7 wavy lines with a #1 at the left end of line 4 and a small "D" in line 7. The postmark is Baltimore, MD, Feb 4, 1907. Topic is for a receipt of oil.
6. addressee is William L. Gross, Esqr. Stamp is in good condition, however, there is a horizontal bend in the card that does extend through the very bottom of the stamp. The card has some blackening at the left side that almost reaches the eagle image and the lower, left corner is torn. There is also a vertical crease in the card, just right of center, which does not affect the stamp. The cancellation is 7 wavy lines with a #1 at the left end of line 4 and a small "o" ("c"?) between lines 6 & 7. The postmark is Frederick, MD, Sep 4, 1907. Topic is a pre-printed receipt of a bank deposit.
7. addressee is William L. Gross Esqr. Stamp is in good condition, except for a horizontal crease completely across the card that is just at the bottom of the stamp. Cancellation is 7 wavy lines with a #1 at the left end of line 4 and a small "c" between lines 6 & 7. The postmark is from Frederick, MD, Aug 28 1907. Topic is a pre-printed receipt of a bank deposit.
8. addressee is Professor Geddes, Jr. Stamp is in very nice condition. The card is bent at the corners (lower right and left), but otherwise very nice as well. The cancellation is 7 straight lines with a #1 at the left end of lines 3 & 4. The rectangular postmark is from Ithaca, NY, Mar 7 '05. Topic is that the sender will NOT be attending the phonetic conference (which he refers to a "propoganda")
