USPS First Day of Issue Souvenir Pages 9706, 9714 & 9715 for Scott #3130-3131 32c Stagecoach and Ship Pacific 97 triangle stamps, FDOI, March 13, 1997, New York, New York and #3139-3140 50 & 60c Pacific 97 Washington & Franklin souvenir sheets, FDOI, May 29 and May 30, 1997. Pacific 97 was a major international philatelic exhibition held in San Francisco from May 29 to June 8, 1997. The USPS made a strong showing by issuing its first triangular stamps at the Postage Stamp MEGA-Event in New York City and then re-engraving and re-issuing the first two United States postage stamps, marking the 150th anniversary of U.S. postage.
