Item Description
USPS First Day of Issue Ceremony Program for the dedication of Scott #3236 a-t 32c Four Centuries of American Art stamps, FDOI, August 27, 1998, Santa Clara, California. Pane of Twenty stamps. "The American Artists represented here on these stamps, were born in diverse places around this country, as well as elsewhere. Some were self-taught, others were academically trained. They found their subjects both at home and abroad. These stamp images, all details from the originals, reflect some of the enduring themes in American visual arts: a concern with individuality in a democratic society, reverence for the variety of landscape across the continent, down-to-earth realism, and a recurring sense of optimism and energy. " Ceremony was held in conjunction with APS 112th Convention. This Program has an additional show cancellation #3236k 32c White Cloud, Head Chief of the Iowas by George Catlin, unofficial show/fd cancel, August 27, 1998, APS STAMPSHOW 98 Station, Santa Clara, California. Program measures 10" x 8 1/2".Sales History
