President McKinley was shot on September 6, 1901 and died on September 14th. He was the third President to be assassinated. USA Scott #294 tied by September 25, 1901 Pan-American Exposition machine cancel. (Scott 2017 values stamp on cover or card tied by Expo machine cancel at $50.00) Sent 1901 from Buffalo, New York to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin ( DPO 1846-1927 Milwaukee County) stamp sound, undivided back with bottom left corner creasing, some corner bumping/wear and toning.
