Description

USA Scott #2 stamp with 4 clear margins tied by red pen strokes and January 26 New Orleans, Louisiana red cds receiver at the Levee Post Office (where placed into the mails) on cover probably sent outside of the mails on January 15, 1850 from Bienville, a small settlement or plantation which at this time was greater than 300 miles from New Orleans. The business letter is addressed to ( Buchanan Camel Co. ?) and signed by ( R. Deschart & Company ?) (Scott 2021 Catalog values #2 on cover at $1,000.00)

Sent 1850, opened fairly cleanly,  mostly normal file folds, some general wear & toning. Fine condition.
