The first pictured Violet Washington "Specimen/Postage" engraved plate essay test stamp was produced by Harry Peckmore firm. Peckmore was an old security printer that produced issues for foreign governments, cinderellas, etc. Mr. Peckmore of Hillsdale, NJ (1891-1975) is most known for his original engravings prepared for the 1934 US National Parks set.
