Item Description

SCV $1.25 (2020). Single entire 5-cent FDC postal card commemorating the 25th anniversary of Women Marines. No flaws noted. The card is stiff and clean with no bent corners and a black ink cancellation mark. The first day cancellation mark indicates that the card was issued in "SAN FRANCISCO, CA" on "JUL 26 1968". The words "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" is printed in black ink on one line on the right side of the card between two sets of horizontal parallel lines. At left of the card, on the address side, is a Fleetwood cachet depicting the picture of a Woman Marine, the Eagle, Anchor & Globe Marine insignia and it indicates "commemorating the 25th anniversary" of the beginning of the Women Marines. The reverse side of the card is completely blank. Lithographed.
