This is a Scott #499f - AEF 2c Booklet Pane of 30 - MNH - with PF Cert GEM - Rare Pane 1917.
Condition is pristine, with 1998 PF cert.
This rare full pane has exceptional margin around the pane, where most are cut into the design on one or two sides during their separation. Few of these panes particularly in this condition exist.

The American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) were the United States Armed Forces sent to Europe during World War I. Led by General John J. Pershing, the AEF fought alongside French and British allied forces against the Central Powers, primarily in France and Belgium.
The U.S. declared war on Germany in April 1917, but it took several months to mobilize and transport the AEF to Europe. The first American troops arrived in France in June 1917, but they received additional training before entering combat.
The AEF contributed significantly to the final Allied offensive of the war, known as the Hundred Days Offensive, which successfully pushed back the German forces. U.S. troops fought in several significant battles during this offensive, including the Battle of Saint-Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, which was one of the largest and deadliest campaigns in American military history.
