Item Description
U.S. Stamp - Used SingleA used single with black fancy cancel. Stamp also has crease and hinge that causes disturbace on back. A very fine example of this beautiful stamp issue. This is the perfect item for the collector/dealer/exhibitor focusing on this U.S. stamp area.
This stamp comes from an old-time fancy cancel collection composed of classic United States stamps. In each case, the stamp was collected for the appearance of the cancel and not necessarily for the centering or overall condition. Many of the stamps from this collection have a small fault or two that in the vast majority of cases do not affect the overall appearance of the stamp or the cancel. This is typical of fancy cancel focused collections. At the same time many of the stamps are sound and exhibit their original color, overall appearance and cancellation superbly.
