United States, Scott 338, 375, on cover with unique boxed Williams, Ariz. cancel. Excellent strike of unique boxed black WILLIAMS, / ARIZ. rectangular 35mm x 18.5mm cancel ties 10c yellow & 2c carmine Washingtons, both with natural straight edges, on blue registered cover to San Francisco, California. This cancel is the discovery example, and the only one known. It will be listed in the next edition of Arizona Territorial Postmark Catalog. Reverse: sender, E.B. Perrin, Williams, Arizona. 2 strikes of magenta Williams, AZ Registered CDS, & 2 different San Francisco receiver CDS-s. E.B. Perrin was a well known Arizona doctor who got into much trouble in Northern California speculating on land deals, eventually convicted of fraud.
