Scott 859-863 1940 Famous American featuring the 1-10c from the Author series, Francis Marion Hotel envelope, Flap is open and cover is addressed. Combo cover with the complete set from the 1940 authors series.

This registered letter was mailed on February 3rd in Charleston SC and received in Webster NY on February 5th. The 3 & 5 cent stamps were not formally released until Feb 5th and the 10 cent was released on Feb 13th
