Ellison is best known for his 1952 novel _Invisible Man_. An immediate critical success, the book revolutionized how African-American writers described and defined their lives. n his 1953 National Book Award acceptance speech, Ellison eloquently articulated his wide-ranging ambitions as a novelist. “I was to dream of a prose which was flexible, and swift as American change is swift,” he said, “confronting the inequalities and brutalities of our society forthrightly, but yet thrusting forth its images of hope, human fraternity and individual self-realization. A prose which would use the richness of our speech, the idiomatic expression and the rhetorical flourishes from past periods which are still alive among us.”

* First Item (International) - BETWEEN USD $1.77 AND USD $3.57, DEPENDS ON THE DESTINATION
