In 2013, the u.S. Postal service features the spicebush swallowtail on its third butterfly stamp for use on large greeting card envelopes and other mail of non-standard shapes and sizes. Envelopes for many large cards requiring the additional postage will feature a silhouette of a butterfly to suggest the use of this stamp.

The spicebush swallowtail (Papilio troilus) is known as one of the most beautiful and intriguing of the swallowtail butterflies. It is named for the plant on which its caterpillars commonly live, the spicebush.

Both as caterpillars and adults, spicebush swallowtails hide from their predators in plain sight. They do this by mimicking other animals and even inedible objects. When very young, the brown and white caterpillar resembles a bird dropping. The caterpillar later morphs into what looks like a small green snake, with yellow and black markings that resemble a snake's eyes and a false forked tongue. The butterfly's chrysalis mimics a dried brown leaf, complete with veins.

Nationally known artist Tom Engeman worked with art director Derry Noyes on this design.

The square format of the stamp was developed in partnership with the greeting card industry to indicate that this stamp may be used for square envelopes weighing up to and including one ounce. Greeting card envelopes printed with a silhouette of a butterfly indicate the need for an additional 20 cents postage — or the use of this butterfly stamp. The butterfly stamp is being issued in self-adhesive sheets of 20 and may also be used to mail envelopes with irregular sizes and shapes.

Shipping & Handling Time
Most of the items (except Pre-order items and FDC) will be sent out WITHIN 1 BUSINESS DAY after you pay the invoice.  Please review the positive feedback from the buyers.  The actual delivery time varies due to the destination.

Shipping & Handling Fee
I am trying to offer the lowest shipping fee if possible.  The item will be sent out via USPS standard mail (or first class mail) with no tracking number.  I will take a picture of the package as proof of delivery.  The shipping fee is listed as below -

* First item (USA) - BETWEEN USD $1.17 AND USD $2.29, DEPENDS ON THE SIZE
* First Item (International) - BETWEEN USD $1.83 AND USD $5.84, DEPENDS ON THE DESTINATION
* Each eligible additional item (USA / International) - USD $0.10 (see combined shipping discount), independent of size and destination

Combined Shipping Discount
The combined shipping discount can be applied only on the items showing up in the same invoice.  Each eligible additional item will be charged an additional of USD $0.10 as the shipping fee.  If you have any question, please check with me before you pay. I will always get back to you within 12 hours.

Important tips to save shipping fee -
