Item Description

Extremely Rare 5c black on bluish, tissue thin, pelure paper, Scott # 11X7.
Only about ~35 copies are known and all used and inevitably found in "poor" condition (faults, margins cutting into design) given the fragility of the paper as noted and valued by Scott in his footnote; "Values of Nos. 11X7-11X8a, on and off cover, reflect the usual poor condition of these stamps, which were printed on fragile pelure paper. Attractive examples with minor defects sell for considerably more".
One of the Rarest stamp in the World!
Postmaster Provisional stamps were used on Mail before the first Federal Postage stamps were placed into usage.
