Scott 1023 used on a patriotic cover celebrating the 65th anniversary of the USS Maine keel laying October 17, 1888. Unknown design cachet, format = single, flap is open and cover is addressed.
USS Maine exploded in Havana Harbor on February 15th 1898, killing 268 men.
