Item Description

SCV $1.00 (2020). Single 8-cent Samuel Adams First Day Cancellation (FDC) postal reply card. No flaws noted. The card is clean with no bent corners & no separated perforations. The message side of the card has a black ink cancellation mark that indicates it was issued in "BOSTON, MA" and dated "DEC 16 1973". The precanceled portion of the stamp (i.e. the upper right-hand corner) depicts Samuel Adams in orange ink and it is overprinted with "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" between two sets of horizontal, parallel bars in black ink. The message side of the card has a Artmaster cachet in black ink that illustrates the Old State House in Boston Massachusetts and a short biography of Adams. The reply side if the card is blank except for the 3-bar precancellation mark & the depiction of Samuel Adams in orange ink.
