Item Description

SCV $1.00 (2020). Single 11-cent Visit the USA FDC unaddressed postal card for international use. Slight wrinkle is seen at the lower right-hand corner, otherwise no flaws noted. The card is stiff with no bent corners and a black ink cancellation mark. The first day cancellation mark indicates that the card was issued in "WASHINGTON, DC" on "MAY 27 1966". The message side of the card has been printed with a cancellation mark that is unrelated to the FDC date. The cancellation mark is advertising "NATIONAL SALVATION ARMY WEEK FOURTH WEEK IN MAY" (on three lines) and was printed in "SAN DIEGO, CALIF." in the "AM" on "30 MAY 1966". This is three days after the FDC date on the opposite coast from Washington, D.C.! Four photographs at left on the address side show: Mt. Rainier, New York City skyline, Indian on horseback & Miami Beach. The reverse side of the card is completely blank.
