Item Description

SCV $1.00 (2020). Single entire 12-cent Lewis & Clark FDC postal card. No flaws noted. The card is stiff and clean with no bent corners and a black ink cancellation mark. The first day cancellation mark indicates that the card was issued in "SAINT LOUIS" (zip code "63155") on "SEP 23 1981". The words "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" is printed in black ink on one line on the right side of the card between two sets of horizontal parallel lines. At left of the card, on the address side, is an Artmaster cachet depicting Lewis, Clark & an Indian princess poring over a map and it indicates the 175th anniversary of the 1st exploration of the Northwestern United States. The reverse side of the card is completely blank. Lithographed, tagged.
