Item Description

United States, Scott #C91-C92, used(o), 1978 se-tenant pair, Wright Brothers, 31 cents x 2, multicolored; issued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Orville and Wilbur Wright's historic first powered flight in 1903 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina; Orville piloted the twelve horsepower, four-cylinder, gasoline engine, biplane on the first attempt – staying airborne for twelve seconds and travelling 120 feet – by noon of that same day, Wilbur set the day's record by flying 852 feet in 59 seconds; Scott 2019 Catalog Value: $1.20, nicely centered, clear, very light, red-inked, double-rimmed quarter circular socked-on-the-nose corner cancellations on each stamp, top stamp at top right, bottom stamp at lower right, sound back, good perforations. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.
