Item Description

United States, Scott #5794, used(o), 2023, Commemorating the Art of Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997), American pop artist, and a leading artist in this new form of art in the 1960s and 70s, his work defined the premise of pop art through parody of typically popular advertising and comic books; he defined the form considered to be ‘disruptive’ often taking on an industrial veneer, as with the subject of this stamp; stamp shows his work: 'Still Life with Crystal Bowl (an oil and magna on canvas - 1972 - magna is a type of acrylic resin paint that produces a glossy metallic appearing finish), a forever stamp issued at a counter retail value of 63 cents, offset flexographic printed by the Banknote Corporation of America (BCA), phosphor tagged paper, non-water soluble self adhesive, serpentine die cut simulated perforations: 10¾, multicolored, Scott Supplemental Catalog Value: 60¢. Nicely centered, a duplex cancellation, beginning on the left side with the remnant of a black-inked, blurred, message mailing details cancel, leading to a series of horizontal wavy line cancellations on the right side of the stamp, good perforations, this stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive album mounting; mounting and centering warrants a selling price premium This is not a 'bait-and-switch;'  the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
