Item Description
United States, Scott #5751, used(o), 2023, American Landmarks Series Parcel Stamp, stamp is dedicated to the Florida Everglades, a 1.5-million-acre wetlands preserve on the southern tip of Florida.; essentially a grassy, slow-moving river, the Everglades is made up of coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes, and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of animal species, including the Florida panther, the leatherback turtle, and the West Indian manatee, stamp shows a sawgrass marsh at sunset, in the foreground is a grove of bald cypress trees sheltering a great egret to the left and a blue heron stalking its prey to the right, beyond floats a half-submerged Florida alligator, a common feature of the Everglades; $9.65, offset lithography, serpentine die cut simulate 10½ perforations, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: $9.75, nicely centered (superb), double strike cancels, both very light, circular, double-rimmed, red-inked, socked-on-the-nose cancels, the main, a three-quarter, hollowed-out and broken-up circular cancel centered at the middle of the stamp and extending out and over the whole front of the stamp, but only really shows on the lower border for the lightness of this cancel and its broken-up and hollowed-out effects leave the main image virtually clear, the second cancel is a half circular touch cancel on the lower left border, stamp has a surface ink scratch on the right side middle, hence price discounted, good perforations, stamp was issued on non-water soluble pressure-sensitive adhesive panes, this stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive album mounting, centering, mounting, and image free cancel warrant a selling price premium but surface damage calls for an adjustment, so a wash. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive. Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.65 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.673 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
