Item Description

United States, Scott #5742, used(o), 2023, Red Fox, bulk mail definitive, 40 cents, the stamp is intended for use by bulk mailers of for items such as catalogs, brochures, circulars, and newsletters who can qualify for a bulk rate mail discount; stamp shows a Red Fox from a pen-and-water color drawing by wildlife illustrator Dugald Stermer (1936-2011); above the drawing is the animal's Linnaeus's scientific classification 'Vulpes vulpes' in calligraphy script, and below the drawing is its common name in elongated capital-letter hand script; 'USPS' in microprint on the fox's left ear at leftmost edge, serpentine die cut simulated perforations 11¼x11, perforations at the sides, offset lithography printed by the Banknote Corporation of America (BCA), no watermark, issue with non-water soluble adhesive, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 25¢, nicely centered (superb), black-inked, light, quarter circular, black-inked, double-rimmed, almost half counter-clockwise turned, socked-on-the-nose corner cancel at the top right and just into the main image, good perforations, this stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album mounting; centering, mounting, and largely image clear cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
