United States, Scott #5701, used(o), 2022, Floral Geometry Parcel Stamp, $5.00, offset lithography printed and foil stamped by the Banknote Corporation of American (BCA), serpentine die cut simulated perforations: 10½, 'USPS' in micro-print at the left between the "D" and the "USA," the date 2022 in black ink, microprint at the lower left corner, non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, silver and violet, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: $2.50, nicely centered (superb), double strike cancels, both large and very light, black-inked, circular, double-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose cancels, one, half circular over the lower center half of the stamp, the second, on the lower left corner, the lightness of the cancels leaves the main image essentially cancel free, stamp has had a tough ride through the automatic cancellation process, leaving perforation damage particular bad at the upper left, middle left and middle right areas, stamp also has a series of corner creases at the top right, stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed, first on a piece of white paper for color contrast, and then, on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance; centering, mounting, and image clear cancels warrants a selling price premium, but perforation damage calls for a major price adjustment. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.
