Item Description

United States, Scott #5455, used(o), 2020, Honoring Arnold Palmer (1929-2016), an American professional golfer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most charismatic players in the sport's history; in a career spanning more than six decades, Palmer won 62 PGA Tour titles from 1955 to 1973; in 1974 was one of the 13 original inductees into the World Golf Hall of Fame; Palmer's social impact on golf was unrivaled among fellow professionals; his modest origins and plain-spoken popularity helped change the perception of golf from an elite, upper-class pastime of private clubs to a more populist sport accessible to middle and working classes via public courses; stamp shows Palmer in an action photograph at the height of his career at the 1964 US Open at the Congressional Country Club at Bethesda, Maryland; forever stamp (55¢), serpentine die cut simulated perforation: 11, issued on non-water soluble self-adhesive panes, offset lithography printed by Ashton Potter USA (APU), 'USPS' in black-inked, security microprint at the upper right on the lower end of Palmer's golf club, multicolored, Scott 2025 catalog value: 25¢. Very slightly off-centered (extremely fine), horizontal, black-inked, wavy line cancellation over the top half of the stamp and just into the main image, good perforations, stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive album mounting, centering, mounting, and largely image free cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
