Item Description

United States, Scott #5429, used(o), American Landmarks Series, Big Bend National Park Priority Mail Stamp, Texas; the park is located in west Texas, bordering Mexico; park has national significance as the largest protected area of the Chihuahuan Desert topography and ecology in the United States, stamp shows the river flowing under the cliffs of the Santa Elena Canyon along the river, $7.75, issued on non-water soluble self-adhesive panes, serpentine die cut simulated perforations: 10¾x10½, offset lithography printed by Ashton Potter USA (APU), 'USPS' in black microprint along the left ridge of the reddish mountain peak at the middle of the stamp at the head of the valley, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: $7.75 nicely centered (superb), light, red-inked, double-rimmed, half circular, half counter-clockwise turned, socked-on-the-nose cancellation over the left half of the stamp and into the main images, however, the lightness of the cancel leaves the main images largely clear, good perforations, this stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance, centering, mounting, and largely image clear cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
