Item Description
United States, Scott #5347, used(o), issued: January 27, 2019, American Landmarks Series, Joshua Tree; the tree is native to the arid southwestern United States, where it is confined mostly to the Mojave Desert between 1,300 feet and 5,900 feet elevation, the tree has a top-heavy branch system and a deep and extensive root system, if it reaches maturity in the rigors of the desert, it can live for hundreds of years, some specimens have been dated to have survived a thousand years, $7.35, offset lithography printed by Ashton Potter USA (APU), non-water soluble self-adhesive panes, serpentine die cut simulated 10¾x10½ perforations, multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: $7.50, nicely centered (superb), double struck cancelled, both light, quarter circular, red-inked, double-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose corner cancels, one at the top right, the second at the bottom right and both well clear of the main image, stamp has two vertical surface cracks, one down the full dimension of the stamp, the second from the middle down to the bottom edge, hence price discounted, one damaged perforation at right side, up from middle, otherwise good perforations, this stamp was lifted from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps from the period similarly mounted; centering, mounting, and image clear cancel warrant a selling price premium, but surface damage calls for an adjustment, so a wash. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive. Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.65 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.73 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
