Item Description
United States, Scott #5319, used(o), 2018 booklet stamp, birds, like flowers, are a common theme in US stamps, as with this ‘Birds in Winter’ Series, stamp shows a red-bellied wood pecker; a relatively small bird with a habitat along all of the eastern United States, from Florida to southern Canada, the bird has a red-orange crown and nape and largely gray chest with a pale reddish blush on its lower underside, which gives it its name; the birds are normally spotted first by their sounds as they are a noisy species with many varied calls and drum taps; stamps are forever stamps with an individual counter value of 50 cents, issued with non-water soluble self-adhesive in guillotine cut imperforated edge booklets of twenty stamps depicting four different birds; stamp is one of the internal lower row stamps with a serpentine die cut simulated perforations: 10¾ at the top left, and right with an imperforated bottom, one of the three stamps among the 20 in the booklet so configured, offset lithography printed by the Banknote Corporation of America (BCA), multicolored, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 30¢; slightly off-centered (very fine) which is typical for a booklet stamp as most are considerably off-centered, light, horizontal, black-inked, wavy line cancellation over the top half of the stamp and over the main image, however, the lightness of the cancel leaves the main image largely clear, stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance, good perforations; centering, mounting, and largely image clear cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive. Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.65 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.73 added postage expense. Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
By way of reference, I am an American Philatelic Society member (195176) and an American Stamp Dealers Association (ASDA) member. Thank you for looking, and I hope this is the perfect stamp to fill that gap in your collection.
