Item Description

United States, Scott #5297, used(o), 2018, Statue of Freedom from the statute placed on the U.S. Capitol Dome in 1863, stamp shows the head of the statue, $5.00, offset lithography and intaglio engraved by the Banknote Corporation of America (BCA), issued with non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, serpentine die cut simulated perforated: 10¾x10½, ‘USPS’ in security brown micro-print on the statues left shoulder at the lower center of the stamp, also, for security, the stamp denomination ‘five’ is repeated five times in the space between the horizontal ‘USA’ and vertical ‘DOLLARS’ at the right, stamp also utilizes optical variable ink on the stamp's large value number changing the color from olive brown to gold in shifting light, brick red, reddish pink, and black, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: $2.50; nicely centered (superb), light , smudged ink cancel at top right and well clear of the main image, good perforations, light, off centered cancellation warrants a selling price premium, stamp was issued pressure-sensitive adhesive panes with a water insoluble gum, this stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
