Item Description

United States, Scott #4953, used(o), 2015, Patriotic Waves, $1.00, Frameless abstract design meant to represent the billowing effect of a waving United States flag; lithography printed by Ashton Potter USA (APU), serpentine die cut simulated perforations at scale: 11, issued in sheets of 140 stamps each with non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, 'USPS' in black-inked, security microprint above the lower red stripe at the right middle edge of the stamp, issue date of '2015' in vertical white security microprint in upper right corner, red, white, and blue, Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 50¢, nicely centered (superb), quarter circular, red-inked, double-rimmed, quarter clockwise turned, socked-on-the-nose corner touch cancellation at the lower left and well clear of the main image, good perforations, stamp was lifted from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps of the period similarly mounted; centering and mounting warrants a selling price premium - this is an example of a perfect used stamp - nicely centered, light offset image free cancel, but with sufficient cancellation details to assure stamp was postally used and not a CTO or courtesy cancel, good perforations, fresh clear impression - a perfect used stamp! This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
