Item Description

United States, Scott #3930, used(o), 2005, 50th Anniversary of the Presidential Libraries Act, the act provides for the orderly transfer of presidential papers and memorabilia to the federal government; the law also permits former Presidents to build "presidential libraries" at no expense to the government and to transfer these facilities to the government along with their personal property; the government, in turn, agrees to maintain both the property and the buildings at public expense; stamp shows the 'Presidential Seal;' 37¢, non-water soluble self adhesive, serpentine die cut simulated perforations: 10¾, photogravure, Scott 2019 Catalog Value: 25¢, multicolored, nicely centered, large, half circular, black-inked, double-rimmed, hollowed-out, socked-on-the-nose cancellation on the right half of the stamp and into the main image, stamp has several surface wrinkles at the top of the stamp caused when the customer carelessly removed the stamp from the self-adhesive pane, missing several perforations at left top, otherwise good perforations; stamp was soaked from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive album mounting centering and mounting warrant a selling price premium, missing perforations require a discount, so a wash. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

Also, if you make additional purchases from my offerings, they can all go in one mailing at no extra shipping expense for the added purchases. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
