Item Description

United States, Scott #1336 used(o), 1967, Traditional Christmas: Madonna and Child from the Donne Triptych, a three piece oil on oak Altarpiece by Hans Memling in 1478; Memling (c1430 -1494) was a German-born, Flemish painter who worked in the Dutch and Flemish renaissance style; the altarpiece It was commissioned by the Welsh Diplomat for the English House of York, Sir John Donne; it is presently in the permanent collection of the National Gallery, London with the panels still in their original frames, lithography and engraved, 5 cents, multicolored, Scott 2019 catalog value: 25¢, nicely centered, small, red-inked, circular, socked-on-the-nose corner cancellation on the bottom of the stamp and well clear of the main image, sound back, stamp has a perforation abnormality on the top row with several perforation pins not cutting their perforation slots during the printing process, otherwise good perforations; centering, cancellation, and perforation abnormality warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
