Item Description

United States, Scott #1295, used(o), 1966, John Bassett Moore (1860-1947), American politician, author, lawyer, and professor, authority on international law, was a member of the Hague Tribunal (established in 1899 to arbitrate international disputes), and was the first American judge to serve on the Permanent Court of International Justice ( also known as the World Court, which existed from 1922 to 1946), $5.00, gray black Scott 2025 Catalog Value: $2.25, very slightly top and bottom off-centered (extremely fine), light, quarter circular, red-inked, double-rimmed cancellation at the lower right and well clear of the main image, sound back, hinge remnant, stamp appears to have a clipped perforation at the top right and bottom left corners, however this is a common illusion for the issue due to the asynchronized nature of the line perforation method used for this issue, the corner perforations on this stamp are sound, as are all the other perforations; centering and image free cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.
