Item Description

SCV $18.00 (2020). Pane of twenty 32-cent American Art stamps in MNH, VF condition. The pane is post office fresh, so no flaws are noted. The gum is immaculate & shiny, perforations are fully intact (i.e. no separations or folds are noted), the stamps are crisp & their colors are bright. The twenty stamps are completely surrounded with selvage & plate number 'S11111' is printed horizontally on the selvage at the bottom, left-hand corner of the pane of stamps. The pane consists of the following (in left-to-right, top-to-bottom order) paintings by American artists: "Portrait of Richard Mather" by John Foster (SC #3236a), "Mrs. Elizabeth Freake and Baby Mary" by The Freake Limner (SC #3236b), "Girl in a Red Dress with Cat and Dog" by Ammi Phillips (SC #3236c), "Rubens Peale with a Geranium" by Rembrant Peale (SC #3236d), "Long-billed Curlew, Numenius Longrostris" by John James Audubon (SC #3236e), "Boatmen on the Missouri" by George Caleb Bingham (SC #3236f), "Kindered Spirits" by Asher B.
