Item Description

SCV $7.50 (2014). Sheet of ten 29-cent stamps commemorating 1941: A World at War in MNH, F-VF condition. No flaws noted. Gum is immaculate & shiny, the sheet (and its stamps) are crisp & their colors are bright. A corner of the selvage at the upper right-hand corner of the sheet is missing, but this does not affect the quality of the sheet of stamps. The sheet depicts (in left-to-right, top-to-bottom order) the following during 1941: military vehicles on the Burma Road (SC #2559a), recruits (SC #2559b), shipments of aid to allies (SC #2559c), Roosevelt & Churchill (SC #2559d), a tank (SC #2559e), sinking of the destroyer Reuben James (SC #2559f), gas mask & helmet (SC #2559g), a Liberty ship & seagull (SC #2559h), ships sinking at Pearl Harbor (SC #2559i), Congress in session to declare war (SC #2559j). Selvage is attached to the bottom & left & right sides of the sheet. Plate number '3244 is printed vertically on the selvage on the right side of the sheet. Lithographed & engraved, water-activated gum, tagged, perf 11.
