Item Description

SCV $1.25 (2014). Strip of five 8-cent stamps commemorating the U.S. Postal Service in UNUSED, VF condition. Hinge remnants are seen on the two stamps at the ends of the strip & some gum speckling is seen, otherwise no flaws are noted. Gum is immaculate & shiny (except as noted), the stamps are crisp & their colors are bright. Selvage is attached to the right side of the rightmost stamp in the strip. Text is printed on each of the stamps in green ink (see photos). The five stamps constitute half of the 10-stamp strip that is known as SC #1498a. The strip consists of stamps, in left-to-right order, that depict the following: manual letter routing (SC #1494), electronic letter routing (SC #149), loading mail on a truck (SC #1496), a mailman (SC #1497) and rural mail delivery (SC #1498). Photogravure, water-activated gum, tagged, perf 10-1/2 x11.
