Item Description
One deep sea diver is enamored with the treasure chest he has discovered, while his partner can hardly believe the 'treasure' swimming just above them! They've both found WONDERS OF THE SEA!This cover folds down to fit in your album, but is nearly 11" wide when unfolded to reveal two mermaids and other marine denizens greeting the divers! I believe this was only the third pop-up cachet created for a US stamp issue.
The cachet was letterpress printed in two colors - sea green and marine blue - on blue index stock. It has a little bit of hand enhancement by the artist that was not seen in its initial availability. This is the last copy in the artist's archives!
