Item Description

Canadian First Flight cover The Pas, Manitoba to Herb Lake, Manitoba flown 1937 franked by a 6-cent red brown Daedalus Air Mail issue of 1935, Scott C5. The stamp is cancelled by a circular date stamp. The cover is addressed to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Air Mail etiquette. 'Pilot' handstamp and signed by pilot.

The cachet pictures a chipmunk on a branch, sunrise, and a seaplane and reads:

'Canada Air Mail
First Official Flight
The Pas - Herb Lake.'

Slit open top, the backflap is sealed and intact. No contents. Verso has a Herb Lake circular date stamp and a Prince Albert machine cancellation.
