This YEAR OF THE RAT stamp -- the first in a new Lunar New Year series featuring Asian masks of the 12 Zodiac Animals - debuted in January 2020 at the enormous Lunar New Year Festival in Monterey Park, CA (with an estimated 200,000 attendees!) and Bennett Cachetoons was there to get some of the first stamps to go on sale, get them cancelled, and bring them here to HipStamp!!So focussed on our mission were we, that we didn't even stop at any of the vendors' booths to enjoy the Cheddar/Wasabi Potato Swirls, or the BBQ Squid on a Stick!
Ultimately, the serviced covers were handed out at that afternoon's meeting of the Claude C. Ries Chapter to all in attendance, but a few were left over!
The cachet depicts a rat proudly displaying his own version of the mask on the stamp. The reverse designates this as a Ries Chapter Event Cover.
